–
A very heavy and fine Swiss 18 carat gold hunting cased anker chronometer precision watch, the demi Chronomètre, made by Vacheron & Constantin in Geneva, circa 1904.
A plain case, signed twice and numbered. Signed white enamel dial with Arabic hour numerals, an outer minute track, sunk subsidiary seconds and blued steel spade hands. An anker chronometer movement of special quality with a micrometre fine adjusting device, large gold screw chronometer balance and an Observatory punch for 1904 on the balance bridge.

–
A demi chronomètre made by Vacheron & Constantin is extremely rare.
–
The name demi chronomètre was used by Vacheron & Constantin to indicate that these watches were sent to the Observatory for chronometric control, but, for commercial reasons, they did not stay long enough to complete the entire test run. They were predominantly equipped with rare regulation and a Guillaume balance, as in this timepiece. In addition, the year of testing was punched on the balance bridge, which in the present case is 1904.

Signed: Vacheron & Constantin Genève
