A Swiss heavy and early Geneva hunting cased watch with corresponding chain, Ankerchronometer Tobias, circa 1850.
14 carat gold engine turned case in very good condition, all 3 lids solid gold and dome signed “Tobias Geneve”; fine bar movement, big chronometer balance with gold screws, balanced lever and key winding; original white enamel dial in perfect condition and also signed “Geneve” with Roman hours, Arabic minutes, sunk subsidiary dial for the seconds and fine gold hands with jewels; decorative watch chain, golden mountings and horsehair.
