A Swiss rare gold hunting cased minute repeating watch with Westminster chimes, circa 1922, gilt lever movement, highly jeweled, split bimetallic balance, four hammers repeating on three gongs.
White enamel dial, Arabic numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary second, 18k gold case, case band with slide for repeater at 6 o’clock, case with maker’s mark R&S, London hallmarks for 1922.

The Westminster chimes marks the hours, quarters and minutes using four hammers to play a melody of four different notes.  This distinctive tune, also known as the Cambridge chime, gets its name from the Church of St. Mary the Great, Cambridge.
