A pink gold anker chronometer with rare caliber, original box and original papers, made by Patek Philippe in Genève, Switzerland, circa 1899. The open faced plain case is crafted from 18 Carat pink gold, is numbered and has the Patek Philippe case punch. The white enamel dial has an outer ring with black Arabic numerals and Roman numerals for the minutes (outside) and hours (inside) and intact pink gold hands. The numbered movement has a very rare anker chronometer caliber, a special chronometer balance, Wolf’s toothing, a special barrel bridge and a plate with patent punch 2680 (Patek Philippe Swiss Patent 2680 dated 27 September 1890).
Dial and cuvette are signed and the latter has a dedication “À mon cher frère Ferdinand, Souvenir, 1899” (“To my dear brother Ferdinand, Souvenir 1899”)
