Gold hunting cased watch by Dumont Guinand
–
An extremely splendid gold/enamel Swiss hunting cased pocket watch for the Ottoman market with original box, circa 1800-1899. The watch features an 18K gold and enamel case with a coined band. Both sides of the case showcase fine enamel work, while the face is in excellent condition. The back of the case has been partially restored. Dumont Guinand signs the dome of the watch. It houses a fine cylinder movement that is key-wound. The watch has its original enamel dial, Ottoman numerals, and delicate filigree Breguet hands. It remains intact. The original box includes an exchange dial with Arabic numerals (with a hairline) and a likely original gold and enamel key.
