Platinum Art Deco purse watch

A very fine keyless Art Deco purse watch made by Vacheron Constantin SA in Geneva, Switzerland, circa 1930s. Retailed by Tiffany & Co in New York, U.S.A. The rectangular case has two panels that can be opened by pressing the spring loaded sides of the case to display the movement and the dial, which can be tilted and held by the panels, making it a desk clock. The body and shutters decorated with initials, a personal inscription on the inside and sapphire set pushers to open the shutters. The satin silver dial with applied cubist hour numerals, an outer minute track and white gold kite hands. The rhodium plated movement has 15 jewels, a straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with five adjustments, blued steel flat balance spring and an index regulator.
Dial and movement are signed, the case numbered.
