Gold open faced pocket watch

A fine Swiss 18 carat gold open faced gentleman’s pocket watch with 36 hour power reserve made by Paul Ditisheim in La Chaux-de-Fonds, circa 1925. Sold by Mappin & Webb Ltd. in London. The polished case with a signed gold cuvette. A white enamel dial with Arabic Art Deco hour numerals, an outer minute track, auxiliary seconds at 6 o’clock, power reserve indicator at 12 and blued kite hands, signed by the retailer. The gold chatoned rhodium plated bridge movement features Geneva striping decoration, is marked Pat. Compens. No. 98234, with an Affix balance, and a patented and geared fine adjusting device.
