A Swiss gold quarter repeating erotic automaton watch with Jacquemarts, circa 1790. The watch features a gilded full plate movement with a verge escapement, and a pierced, engraved balance bridge. It has a dial with a white enamel chapter ring and Arabic numerals, set against a skeletonised background showcasing classical Jacquemarts holding hammers for striking. At the 6 o’clock position, an erotic automaton is crafted from varicoloured gold figures, hidden beneath blued steel shutters adorned with varicoloured gold decorations depicting a flaming heart. The case is made of 18-carat gold with a milled band, equipped with locking slides for the plunge repeat function and to reveal the erotic scene, along with a gilt metal cuvette.
