Gold open faced lever pocket watch

A rare English 18 carat gold captain’s pocket watch with center seconds and dual time indication made by John E. Hyde & Son in London, circa 1860. Solid open faced plain case. White enamel regulator type face with two small dials featuring radial Roman hours, outer minute divisions and moon hands, further sunk subsidiary seconds below and an outermost center seconds track with red Arabic five minute numerals. Frosted gilt bridge caliber movement with a lateral lever escapement, 23 jewels, two barrels, a monometallic three arm balance, flat balance spring, parachute shock absorber on the top balance pivot, a slide button at 4 o’clock to activate/deactivate the double train independent dead center seconds. Dial signed and numbered, case signed.
