Unsigned gold, enamel open faced pocket watch
–
A Swiss gold, enamel and pearl set open faced keywind verge pocket watch circa 1790. The watch features a gilded verge movement with a pierced and engraved balance bridge, numbered 5677. It has a white enamel dial adorned with Arabic numerals and an outer minutes track that includes Arabic numerals for every fifteen minutes. The winding square is positioned at 2 o’clock, complemented by filigree hands. The gold case displays a finely painted polychrome enamel scene on the back, depicting a love altar with two classically dressed ladies flanking a putto holding a garland crown. This is set against a translucent blue enamel background over engine turning. The scene is further enhanced by adding seed pearls and rose cut diamonds; the bezels, also set with seed pearls, are numbered 567 on the stem.

Dial in good order. The case has no losses or cracks, and the pearls and diamonds are intact. However, the watch will not wind and may require a service. The balance is free, though.
