An extremely rare enamel verge watch imitating “Meissen porcelain”, made by C. H. Franz in Zeulenroda, Germany, circa 1780. This watch features a rare “leton” case enriched with enamel and finely executed floral painting, reflecting the celebrated aesthetic of Meissen porcelain artistry. The enamel dial features an outer minute and hour track with Arabic 15 minute numerals (outside) and hour numerals (inside) and gold hands. The movement is equipped with a verge escapement.
The movement is signed.
