Brass, silver and leather pocket watch by Piovet
–
An unusual French brass, silver verge Oignon watch, circa 1700. This pocket watch features a case made of brass and silver. The inside of the case is gilded, while the outside is adorned with silver shells covered in leather (although the leather and nail decoration are currently missing). The watch houses a signed early Oignon movement. The enamel dial has been professionally restored and showcases Roman radial hours, an outer minutes track with Arabic five-minute numerals and elegant blued steel hands. Unfortunately, the glass is missing, but the movement remains intact.
