Whether the number 3479 indicates that this watch is a work completed by Breguet cannot be determined. The quality of the watch could definitely indicate this. Probably it is a watch manufactured by B-L Petit, resident in the Rue St. Honoré, working from ca. 1810 to ca. 1840. Considering this watch, he may have been one of the best French precision watchmakers of its time. He was the son-in-law and successor (and with some certainty also the student) of another famous Parisian watchmaker, Claude Mathieu le Ainé (1722-1812)
