A very fine open faced chronometer pocket watch made in Switzerland, circa 1850. The case of this watch was crafted from 18 carat gold, features a band with a fine double coin rim and numbered, floral and foliate engraved cuvette, which is engraved Chronomètre. The white enamel dial has Roman hour numerals, an outer minute track, sunk subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock and exceptionally fine gold and blued steel openworked hands. The movement is fitted with a pivoted detent escapement and screwed gold chatons.
