A technically highly interesting German cylinder pocket watch, circa 1800. Plain case with reeded band, punched Haag No.135. Typical verge movement with large central bridge, hairspring and balance. White enamel dial with Arabic numerals and Breguet steel hands.

Christoph Matthäus Hahn was born on 15 April 1767 in Onstmettingen near Stuttgart as the son of Philipp Matthäus Hahn, in whose workshop he also worked. He worked there with his brother Christian Gottfried Hahn. Around 1790, Christian Gottfried and Christoph Matthäus became ‘Hofmechanici’ (purveyors to the Court) in Stuttgart.
