During the founding phase of Patek Philippe, the name was changed several times. Until the 15th of May 1845, the company was called Patek, Czapek & Cie. After that, it was split into Patek & Cie and Czapek & Cie. In the following years, both companies produced a comparable range of products of similar quality and supplied nearly the same customer base. Mostly pocket watches and pendant watches were made. Form watches, watches integrated in a box, daggers, fans, perfume bottles and like here a lorgnon with integrated watches belong to the absolute rarities of both companies. The so-called’ Ostrich Fan Watch’ is the best known of these watches, also signed by Czapek & Cie.
