Highly complicated Swiss 18 carat rose gold open faced hour repeating Lépine watch with grande and petite sonnerie, circa 1800. Highly complicated striking mechanism, cylinder escapement, two barrels, one Maltese cross missing. White enamel dial with Arabic hours and outer minute divisions, extraordinary steel hands. Case engine-turned, two levers in the band for selecting between Grande Sonnerie & Petite Sonnerie and muting, small push-button in the pendant for releasing the hour repeater.
