Rose gold jumping hour quarter repeater
–
An exquisite, highly complicated French 18 carat rose gold open faced quarter repeating cylinder pocket watch with jumping hour in the manner of Breguet, circa 1810. Fine calibre with Breguet cylinder escapement, temperature compensation, parachute shock absorber, quarter-hour repeater and jumping hour. White enamel dial with Arabic hours and outer minute divisions, steel Breguet hands. Engine-turned case, reeded band, French case punch 1809-1819, maker’s mark unfortunately unreadable but presumably Joly. Dial signed, case, movement and dial with matching numbers.

Although it is very likely that the watch was not made by A.L. Breguet because it is not registered in the archives, it is an excellent quality watch that is comparable to Breguet’s watches and probably also has a Decombaz calibre.
