A fine French 20 carat gold and enamel open faced verge pendant watch, circa 1775. Frosted gilt full plate movement, tapered pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement with micrometric potence adjustment, three armed brass balance, flat balance spring, continental type balance cock with polished steel endplate, silver regulation dial. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, outer minute track and Arabic five-minute numerals, original gold Louis XVI hands. Louis XVI case, bezel decorated with blue, green and white enamel foliage, the back decorated with a painted on enamel river scene with boats by a watermill with an opalescent ground, Imperial blue border and outer light blue and white enamel dot border. Movement signed.
