A French 18 carat multicoloured gold key winding verge pocket watch, decorated with a polychrome enamel miniature and rhinestones, made by Berthoud, circa 1775. The watch features a rooster movement with verge wheel escapement and chain fusee. Its white enamel dial displays red enamel Arabic numerals and a square winding mechanism at 2 o’clock. The multicoloured gold case shows a polychrome enamel miniature of a female bust, bordered by rhinestone motifs and floral garlands.
