Gold and enamel repeating à toc calendar watch

A fine and rare Swiss 18 carat gold and enamel open faced quarter repeating à toc verge pocket watch with calendar, circa 1790. Matte gilt full plate movement, Ø 41 mm, fuse and chain, verge escapement, three arm steel balance, flat balance spring, pierced and foliate engraved continental balance cock with polished steel endplate, silver regulation dial, repeating on the inside of the case activated by depressing the pendant. A convex white enamel dial with Arabic hours, an outer dot minute track and Arabic quarter hour numerals, outermost red calendar numerals 1 – 31, pierced gold hands and a steel calendar hand. The back with a polychrome enamel scene of a young couple serenading by a perfume burner in a landscape, a royal blue and gold paillon border and polished bezels.
