Finely decorated verge pocket watch by Louis Duchène & Fils

A very fine Swiss 18 carat gold, enamel and pearl set verge pocket watch, circa 1800. Frosted gilt full plate movement with flared turned pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement with micrometric potence adjustment, three armed brass balance, flat balance spring, pierced and chased continental balance cock, polished steel endplate, silver regulator dial. White enamel enamel with Arabic numerals, outer minute divisions, winding aperture at 2 o’clock and original gold arrow hands. Empire case, hinged seed pearl set bezel, the band decorated with black and white champlevé enamel in a lozenge pattern, glazed hinged back with seed pearl set border, finely painted enamel and engraved gold scene of cupid weeping by an urn on a pedestal swathed by a red cloak, flower and trophy border. Movement signed.
