A fine Swiss 18 carat gold and enamel open faced verge pocket watch, circa 1800. Hinged gilt-brass full plate movement with turned pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement with micrometric potence adjustment, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass continental cock with polished steel end-piece, silver regulation dial. White enamel dial with Arabic numerals, outer minute divisions and original pierced gold tulip hands. The case back is decorated with a painted on enamel scene depicting a young lady in classical dress in a garden with a book, paillon flower and drapery border. Dial and movement signed.
