A French 18 carat gold open faced key wind pocket watch made by Jean-Antoine Lépine in Paris, circa 1790. The gilt full plate movement with a verge escapement, pierced and engraved balance bridge and silver regulation. White enamel dial with Arabic numerals, outer minute divisions, a winding aperture at 2 o’clock and blued hands. The foliate engraved case features a polychrome enamel miniature portrait on the reverse, and a stone set border and bezel. Movement signed.
