A Swiss gold, enamel and pearl-set open faced key-wound verge pocket watch, circa 1800. Verge movement, chain fusée, key-winding. White enamel dial with Arabic numerals. Translucent blue enamel bezel with restorations on an engine-turned ground and beaded white rim, the reverse with a central oval painted polychrome enamel plaque with losses and restorations depicting a courting couple studying a bird perched on the open door of a birdcage, graduated split pearl-set surround, translucent blue enamel on engine turning. Dial and movement signed.
