A Swiss silver, enamel and pearl-set hunting cased key-wound lever watch made for the Chinese market, circa 1860. Lever movement, key-winding. Hinged gilt cuvette. White enamel dial with Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds. Case with split pearl set bezels, the covers with translucent blue enamel on an engine-turned ground, the front with the painted polychrome enamel portrait of a fair-haired lady and the reverse with an idyllic painted polychrome enamel scene of two swans on a lake within a rose and foliate ring. Dial and movement signed, cuvette numbered.
