A charming Swiss 18 carat yellow gold and enamel pocket watch, circa 1800. Named the The Fountain of Love. The back with a finely painted enamel scene depicting a couple by a fountain with pearl set, a royal blue translucent enamel background over engine-turning, and a bezel decorated with white and blue enamel triangles and paillons. Off-white enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, outermost Arabic five-minute markers and gold cathedral hands. Gilt brass full plate movement with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass continental clock, polished steel end-piece.
