Gold watch with enamel scene of a young couple

A fine Swiss 18 Carat gold painted on enamel and pearl set lady’s pendant watch, circa 1850. A scallop edged bezel pendant and bow engraved with foliage and scrolls, the back cover decorated with a painted on enamel scene of a young couple in national costume, a dog at their side, scroll border and black champlevé enamel outer border with seed pearl set flowers. Hinged gold and champlevé enamel cuvette with engine-turned border. Silver dial with black champlevé radial Roman numerals, outer minute divisions, the centre engraved with flowers and gold hands. A gilt brass movement, Lepine calibre with going barrel, jewelled cylinder escapement, plain gilt three arm balance, flat balance spring, index regulator. Cuvette signed.
