Geneva 18 Carat gold pocket watch
–
An early Geneva pocket watch, crafted from 18 Carat gold boasting a quarter hour strike on the bell, made by Terrot & Thuillier in Genève, Switzerland, circa 1750. The watch comes complete with a gold plated protective case that features a tortoiseshell cover and sound openings. The case itself is also made from 18 Carat gold and has been beautifully pierced and engraved with a view of the castle. The enamel dial, with Roman numerals for the hours and Arabic numerals for the seconds, is in excellent condition and is complemented by red gold hands that are both workable and visually striking. The bell is signed and numbered, while the dust cover is also numbered to match the signed movement. The watch’s cylindrical pillars, quarter hour repeater and verge escapement all contribute to its functionality.
