A very fine, heavy, astronomical English hunting cased minute repeating watch with perpetual calendar, moon phase and original mahogany box, circa 1909.
18 carat gold polished case with gold dome, case maker’s punch mark “EP” and slide for repeating mechanism. Enamel dial with radial Roman hours, auxiliary seconds, day, date and month indicator considering the leap year, cobalt blue enamelled moon phase disc with inlaid golden moon and stars, retrograde moon age indication and blued spade hands. Signed frosted gilt 4/5 plate movement with screwed chatons, two hammers, two gongs, English lever escapement, gold screw compensation balance, engraved balance cock and diamond endstone.
