The designs that the Jumps produced continued the traditions of Vulliamy and also adopted those of A-L Breguet. The overall design of the present piece is highly reminiscent of Breguet, with its slim case and engine turned dial.
Huyton Richard Jump worked for Benjamin Lewis Vulliamy until Vulliamy’s death in 1854. In 1855, he, along with his sons Joseph and Alfred, established Jump & Sons, as a successor to Vulliamy at 1a Old Bond Street, London.
