A Swiss 18 carat gold and enamel, pearl set pocket watch with a matching gold, enamel and pearl set châtelaine, circa 1790. Made for the English market. Outer: consular, the back in translucent Imperial blue enamel over engine turning, pearl set bezels. Châtelaine: graduated oval, circular and oblong panels with Imperial blue and white enamel decoration matching the watch. With three tassels and a key. Inner: polished with winding aperture. White enamel dial, convex, radial Arabic numerals, outer minute dot divisions and gold arrow hands. Hinged, frosted gilt full plate movement with conical pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, three arm brass balance with flat balance spring, single footed gilt continental cock, gilt dust cap.
