Gold quarter repeating pocket watch

A Swiss 18K gold painted-on enamel and pearl-set quarter repeating pocket watch, circa 1800. An Empire case, engraved band, pearl-set bezel, the back set with a finely painted-on enamel scene of Rinaldo and Armida within an oval gold paillon border, outer translucent blue guilloche enamel border surrounded by pearls. White enamel dial, Arabic numerals, outer minute divisions, winding aperture at 2. Gold hands with pierced tips. A hinged, frosted gilt full-plate movement with cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, brass balance with flat balance spring, continental cock, silver regulation dial, repeating on a bell in the back of the case activated by depressing the pendant. Dial and movement signed.
