Gold repeating musical cylinder watch by Henry Darlot

A large, heavy French 18 carat pink gold pocket watch with repetition and hourly music, circa 1820. Two barrels for movement and musical mechanism, cylinder escapement, splendidly engraved balance bridge, unusual blued gong, very rare music movement with vibrating blades on both sides of the disc. White enamel dial with Arabic numerals and hands in the form of a snake and an arrow. Unusual case form with lobed rim, engine-turned back, cartouche. Cuvette signed.
