Gold open faced lever pocket watch

A very fine Swiss, 18K yellow gold, keyless pocket watch, circa 1884. Retailed by J. Bte. Méaume, Horloger de la Marine Nationale Paris, dated 24 April 1902. A polished case, the case back engine-turned with an applied gold foliate monogram. Hinged gold cuvette. White enamel dial with black Breguet numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds. Blued steel Breguet hands. A matte gilt movement, 18 jewels, straight-line lever escapement à moustache, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, patent screw micrometre regulator of 1884. The cuvette was signed by the retailer, the movement was signed by Vacheron & Constantin.
