A heavy Swiss minute repeating hunting case pocket watch with quarter-hour self strike, circa 1884. Sold to Louis Audemars, Les Brassus.
18 Carat gold, polished case with a gold dome, case maker’s punch mark GS (George Stockwell / Stockwell & Co. Ltd., Birmingham), pusher for repetition at 6 and a lever for choosing between Sonnerie and Silence. Enamel dial with Arabic numerals, auxiliary seconds and blued Breguet hands. Frosted, gilt, signed bridge movement with two hammers / two gongs, Geneva quality hallmark, two barrels, tandem winding with mirror polished click on the top, gold screw compensation balance and counterpoised lever.
