Rose gold open faced pocket watch by Patek Philippe
–
A fine Swiss 18 carat rose gold open faced keyless lever pocket watch with enamel dial, circa 1882. This watch features a mechanical, jewelled movement with a lever escapement. It has a white enamel dial with Roman numerals for hours, a track for outer minutes with gold coloured Arabic numerals for five-minute intervals, outer railway minute divisions, and Louis XV style hands. The case is made of 18-carat rose gold, with chased and engraved details, a hinged case back, and a gold cuvette. The cuvette is signed and numbered, and the case is also signed. A Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives copy confirms the production of this watch in 1882 and its subsequent sale on 20th June 1883.

The movement functions properly. The enamel dial remains intact, although there is a minor chip between 8 and 9 o’clock. The case exhibits surface wear consistent with the watch’s age. The case back features a very crisp engine-turned pattern.
