Extremely rare enamelled dress watch

An extremely rare Art Deco gold and enamel dress watch in chronometer quality, made in France, circa 1925. This watch has a numbered tonneau shaped case made of 18 carat gold and enamel and an engine turned back adorned with a geometric motif and a central polychrome enamel floral design. The silvered dial in Cartier style features Arabic hour numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, blued steel hands and is marked “Chronometre Alti”. The gilt Chronomètre Alti movement is fitted with 15 jewels, a straight line lever escapement, a cut bi metallic balance and a Breguet balance spring.
