A Breguet type cylinder watch with seconde morte and repeater made in France, circa 1810. The numbered open faced case of this water drop shaped pocket watch, which was crafted from 18 carat pink gold, has an engine turned back lid and the cuvette is engraved with “Repetition à Secondes Mortes et Independantes, Compensateur”.
The perfectly preserved screwed white enamel dial has Roman hour numerals and beautiful original hands. The movement has fine cylinder escapement with temperature compensation, independent stoppable seconds and a repeating the hours and quarters mechanism. Case and movement with matching numbers.
