Chronograph watch with Seconde Morte

A high quality 18 Carat pocket watch with “Seconde Morte” (dead beat seconds) with 30 stones, made by E. Marx & Co. in Paris, France,  circa 1880. This particular pocket watch boasts a design, featuring an 18 carat gold “á-goutte” (waterdrop shape) open faced engine turned case numbered No.19681 and featuring factory glazing, with a monogram engraved on the back. The white enamel dial is in perfect condition, with an inner ring displaying Roman numerals for the hours, an outer ring with Arabic numerals for the minutes, a subsidiary dial at 6 o’clock for the seconds and red gold hands. The movement of this pocket features a fine precision lever escapement, chronograph complication, tandem winding according to Mairet, and two barrels for the movement and “Seconde Morte”.
The dust cover of this pocket watch is also engraved and signed, adding to its overall value and authenticity.
