A rare Swiss silver open faced cylinder pocket watch with automatic winding, circa 1800. Full plate movement with an oscillating weight winding mechanism and a steel cylinder escapement.
White enamel regulator dial, small radial time indication in the lower half with Roman hours, an outer minute track, Arabic five minute numerals, center seconds, monochrome enamel flower decoration and gold hands.
Plain silver case.

Moyse Gevril & Fils was founded by Moyse Gevril (or Moÿse Gevrille). He was born in 1749 in Le Locle, Switzerland as the son of Jacques Gevril. Moyse lived in Crêt Vaillant near Le Locle. In 1784, he became a master watchmaker and made pocket watches with automatic winding using a swing weight winding mechanism. He died around 1791.
