Silver open faced key winding verge watch
–
A fine Swiss silver open faced calendar pocket watch, circa 1800. This watch has a mechanical key wound movement with a verge escapement and a chain and fusee. The richly engraved and gilded fronton face shows a small white enamel main dial at 6 o’clock with black Arabic numerals and blued steel hands, balanced by two small white enamel subdials at 10 o’clock and 2 o’clock, displaying the date and day of the week. The timepiece is housed in a classic silver open faced case with a ribbed perimeter band and a cylindrical winding stem. It comes with its winding key.
