–
A Swiss gold, silver, diamond set open faced verge pocket watch with polychrome enamel painted scene, circa 1800. This watch features a gilded full plate movement, signed Chevalier & Compe, numbered 8,232, with a verge escapement, a double screwed balance cock intricately pierced with the name CHEVALIER, and a fusee and chain. The white enamel dial showcases Roman numerals, outer minute divisions, and diamond set gold hands. The gold and silver case is adorned with diamond set bezels on both sides, while the reverse displays an enamelled painted scene of a woman and child, accentuated with diamond chip highlights.

The dial is in good condition; the hour hand is bent, and the minute hand is damaged. The movement seems complete but needs to be operational and needs a full service and overhaul. The silver case is tarnished but otherwise in generally good condition. The enamel panel has scratches and a chip in the grass below the figures.
Signed: Chevalier & Compe
