Gold open faced handwound lever watch

A French 18 carat yellow gold open faced keyless chronometer pocket watch made by LIP, circa early 20th century. This watch has a handwound mechanical movement with a lever escapement. The signed white enamel dial features Arabic numerals, an outer minute track, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, and blued steel hands. The case has an 18 carat yellow gold bowl with a radiating guilloché back, a blank cartouche, and inside engravings of a horsehead hallmark and the memorial inscription Departments 1838-1919.
