A French 18 carat gold open faced deck watch, circa 1920. This watch features a signed anker chronometer movement with a special fine adjusting device, chronometer balance, and wolf’s toothing. There’s an observatory hallmark on the plate, and it has a lever escapement. The dial is made of white enamel, signed L. Leroy & Cie, with Arabic numerals, outer railway minute divisions, a sunk subsidiary dial for the constant seconds, and gold pear shaped hands. The case is made of 18 carat yellow gold, double numbered, and engraved with the inscription: Chronometer L. Leroy & Cie, Observatoire national de Besançon 194 points. The watch is accompanied by its original case signed: L. Leroy & Cie, 7 Bd de la Madeleine, Paris.
