A double-dialled French hunting cased pocket watch with two-time zone indication, circa 1880.
18 Carat gold, tiered, à goutte case. A double dial: front – signed and enamel, with radial Roman hours, auxiliary seconds, and gold spade hands; backside – enamel chapter ring with Arabic numerals, skeletonized centre, and blued spade hands. And a signed, frosted, gilt bridge movement, with gold screw compensation balance, and counterpoised lever.

Charles Oudin (1772-1825)
Oudin was a pupil of Abraham-Louis Breguet and one of his best masters. Oudin started his own business in Paris and was appointed watchmaker to the Russian tsar; he became famous for designing a keyless wind. His son Charles Raymond continued the business after his father’s death in 1836.
