An extremely rare gold enamel verge watch for the Ottoman market, made by Le Roy in Paris, France, circa 1820.
The half hunter numbered case is crafted from 18 Carat gold and is magnificently enamelled on both sides. The white enamel dial with Ottoman numerals, has a very rare version with an inner and outer Ottoman scale for reading the time in closed as well as in open condition. The movement has a verge escapement.
The dial is signed.
