Abraham Bartholony worked as a watchmaker in Paris from 1750. He was probably the son of Amed Bartholony who came from Geneva and was married to Genevieve Mitoire, who was a family of Pierre Mitoire. As a maker, he was also a supplier for Julien Le Roy’s workshop. Abraham Bartholony was possibly related to Daniel Bartholony. Abraham probably signed his watches with ‘Bartholony à Paris’, but there are also watches signed with ‘Bartholony l’Aîné’. The present watch is possibly from Abraham Bartholony but it can also be from Daniel.
