Heart-form pendant watch by Breguet
–
A French gold and silver enamel watch in the shape of a heart, circa 1820. The watch features a gilded full plate movement with the signature Breguet à Paris, a verge escapement, a plain flat three-arm balance, a decoratively pierced and engraved balance bridge, and cylindrical pillars. It has a white enamel dial with Arabic numerals, an outer minute ring, and the signature Breguet à Paris. The heart-form case is made of gold and silver, with bezels set on both sides with pastes. The front of the case has translucent blue guilloché enamel, gold floral sprays, and the inscription Que ce gage precieux te rend bien heureux, while the back features a polychrome enamel painted classical scene against a blue guilloché ground.
–
The inscription can be translated as: May this valuable promise bring you great happiness.
–
Dimensions: 86 x 56.5 mm
–
Signed: Breguet à Paris
–
The movement is functioning properly. The dial has a feint and a small hairline crack near the edge around 5 o’clock, but it is otherwise in good condition. The case back has been restored with soft enamel, while the top and front panels have also been restored with soft enamel.

Signed: Breguet à Paris
