A fine and small French 18 Carat gold, enamel and diamond set open faced dumb quarter repeating verge pendant watch, circa 1775.
Gilt full plate movement, cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, three arm brass balance, blued steel flat balance spring, pierced foliate chased balance cock spelling the name Duval, silvered regulation dial, repeating on the case activated by depressing the pendant.
The case back with border en suite, decorated with an annular panel of rich blue guilloché enamel edged by white enamel dots, centered by a stylized foliate motif, diamond set bezel with white, red and blue foliate enamel border, rose diamond set thumb piece, pendant and bow. Slightly later and specially made white enamel dial with Arabic hours, outer minute bâton markers and rose cut diamond-set hands.
